Tanty Merle

Gossiping and he say/she say is mainly done among women, whether young are old. Women can be very catty, jealous and sometimes down right nasty. Most women are associated within circles of other women. Girlfriends will love each other one day and stop talking tomorrow. Females tend to whole grudges longer and are often  at the epicenter of drama . But what happens when males exercise the same behavior?  Is that  even normal, better yet -is it common? We call these men “Tanty Merles”. This is the Caribbean term for men who “behave” like women. They are hypocrites. They gossip, back stab and manipulate. They “bring news” to the other party which causes chaos and strife. They are your typical informers. Tanty Merles are unhappy, unbalanced and extremely insecure  . They will make up lies and spread rumors just to keep the “hate ” going. Who does that ? People, Places and Things

I believe that once you have that certain significant other ( in your life) you have to change people ,places and things. The people you were once associated with, the things you used to do and places you would usually go-should all change. There’s no reason why a married woman/man should be in the club every weekend- especially if you have children. Once in a while ok, but sometimes you have to draw the line. I find that most men/women or I should say the ” usuals” who know the club scene all too well are  95% lonely. They have no drive, no career and most of all they’re extremely unhappy. As my granny says, “everything is for a time”, so I think its time we do some growing up and put our energy elsewhere.
